Been a while, friends. I’ve been playing a bunch of video games; Call of Duty (Warzone), Forza Horizon 4, F1 2019, beat Doom Eternal’s campaign. M ullet is still here. Plant’s closed until May 11th.
Got the Ruckus running for the first time this year. The metroparks near my home are perfect for riding this little thing. I’ve got a beat-up Jonway scooter I’m trying to get together so the missus and I can ride together. Seems to be either fuel or spark. Still looking into that.
Made two gallons of Apple Pie ‘Shine a Mode. Went heavy on the cloves to it’s really warm tasting. Didn’t realize everclear came in less than 190 proof; Illinois sells the premium stuff.
Caved and bought a racing wheel and pedal set. Logitech G920. They seem to be sold out everywhere, but nabbed an open box version for $250 on eBay. The current setup involves a folding chair, folding table, and a comfy pillow for my bottom. I came across a drawing for a rig using PVC pipes. So I’m waiting for those to be delivered to set that up.

Found a clean and flawless Fiesta driver seat at a junkyard for $30. So far, I’m $400 in the hole for this setup, not too bad if you ask me.
FINALLY figured out the issue with my new brakes on the van. After installing new pads and rotors, there was a contant grinding coming from the front of both wheels. I assumed the calipers were stuck, so I took everything apart and lubricated the heck out of any potential contact points and slide pins yielding no sucess. Then I looked at the rim. Mind you, these are the Taurus SHO wheels, not stock. Apparently, with new pads on, the calipers make contact with the inside of the wheel. It’s barely touching, but enough to make the noise. So I now have to decide whether to machine the wheels to clear the interference, or drive on the winter tires that do not interfere until the pads wear down enough to clear. Or, I buy another set of rubber and mount that onto the stock steelies I still have.

I love a Ruckus or a TW, I used to see them in Tokyo a lot. I still have one old Vespa left but I don’t have a garage to work on it.

Or buy a set of thin spacers to move the wheel out just enough to prevent rubbing.

Also been playing too much warzone.
Buy a couple 5mm spacers for the front, definitely wouldn’t machine the wheel.

I should mention the interference is on the outer diameter of the rim (I’ll add a photo tomorrow). So a spacer may not help.

I mentioned this in another reply but a small spacer may not be enough.
